Mr. Fan needs the help of people like you to save his beloved garden. The Retirement Housing Foundation that owns Mill Pond Manor is a nonprofit organization with a reported mission of "provid[ing] affordable housing and service coordination for persons with limited incomes in an inclusive environment that enhances their quality of life..." With standards like these, we can only hope they will get on board with keeping gardens that bring their residents price, peace and joy intact.

It Begins with Taking A Stand:

If you care about Mr. Fan's garden as much as we do, we kindly ask that you do the following tasks.

Everyone (whether in your capacity as an individual or an entity):

  1. Sign the petition at Change.org

  2. Email info@rhf.org and tell Stuart Hartman, RHF’s CEO and President to let Mr. Fan’s Community Garden be.

  3. Mail a letter to Retirement Housing Foundation – Occupancy 911 N. Studebaker Road Long Beach, CA 90815. Speak your mind, help us advocate, and let them know how this issue makes you feel.

  4. Contact the Saline City Council and Mayor's Office, and let them know your stance along with your hope that the city intervenes to help preserve the garden.

  5. Contact local elected officials and let them know you care about Mr. Fan's garden and want it to be protected:

    1. Michigan State Senator Jeff Irwin: SenJIrwin@senate.michigan.gov; (517) 373-2406; (855) 347-8015

    2. Michigan State Representative Morgan Foreman: MorganForeman@house.mi.gov; (517) 373-0820

    3. Michigan State Representative Jason Morgan: JasonMorgan@house.mi.gov;

      (517) 373-0855

Engaging in the Civic Process is Vital. Mr. Fan looks out for his community, and now he needs us to help look out for him. This garden is for all of us.
